Allen Yeary was born October 4, 1914 in Clark County, KY. He enlisted in 1942 and eventually graduated Officer Candidate School as a Lieutenant in the 431st Engineer Dump Truck Company of the 1394th Engineer Construction Battalion. Yeary served in the Pacific Theater, including the Russell Islands, Guadalcanal, and the Philippines. He was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1946.
